You are not alone..

Got an (almost) anonymous phone call the other day.. Almost anonymous because his number was shown on my hp screen.  Pretended to be a representative from Jab*atan Ag*ama S*eremban.  Saying that they have been keeping an eye on my house for the past 7 months.  Also said they were coming to "serbu" my house one of these days.  Hmm.. I told them to inform me beforehand so that I can also invite the P0lis.  We will see who gets arrested, then.

I didnt know I had security guards!  Alhamdulillah, siapa lah yang menggajikan guard untuk rumah saya.

The next day, I got a prank call.  Ingin berkenalan..kononnya.

To all those who thinks they want to play a joke on me, trying to scare me.. I've got your number and I also know that some of you call from public phones.  Dasar penakut!  Anyway, a copy of the number and time of call is with the P0lis.  So beware..

Dah settle..

At long last sume dah settle. Wedding anak sedara (anak sulung my sister) dah selesai. I was merangkap penyedia barang2 hantaran and konon-konon mak sedara yang dah ada experience dalam menyelenggarakan wedding. Walhal aku hanya gunakan khidmat wedding planner that was included in the package I took. My sister wanted the 'real-deal', and buat ala-ala kampung.. masak sendiri, pasang khemah, rewang merewang (sib baik tak seweng!).

This weekend my nephew is bringing his new wife back to JB to meet Atuk.  I hope she would not be scared if he gives her a big hug, like he hugged Rina.  Haha.. my doter-in-law terus speaking Indon in reaction.  It is a bit scary when he switches into Indon mode.  Not only Rina got hugged, I also got hugged siap dengan tears in his eyes.  I wonder who he thinks I am then.  Once I did tell him that "Ini WYNN.." to which he replied, "I have a doter called WYNN".  Aku tak tahu lah.. banyak2 istigfar and bersabar je lah.

~~~
Kids and gang dah bising asking me to update the blog.  Been busy lately and lazy too.  Apa cerita terbaru.. Oh yes, I received a cheery sms from my good friend, declaring independence...M single s @ 10am 2day. YESSS..dah divorce. skrg tgh celebrate kat kedai mamak dgn dia..  I understand all too well how she feels because I went through the same difficulty getting out of a sour marriage.  We had friends offering a shoulder to cry on.. Hey siapa sedih.. we were ecstatic about it.  My friend went a step further and splurge on an OSI*M massager chair that cost RM8K after discount.  She was always abit crazy!  Hehe..
Fatin can coo and gurgle now.  Everyone in the house tak puas with her short visits, even asking me to 'kidnap' her over the weekend. This young lady has 3 sets of wardrobe all over town.. one at my house, one at her own house and another at the other granny's house.  Cant wait for her to start crawling.
I got myself another admirer.  Aduhai.. I scolded my kids for not wanting to follow me when I go around running errands.  Dah ada orang syok and stalk me.  Calling endlessly on my phone.  Ada ke dia ingat I am in my thirties..
At long last, I coax my doter to accompany me to try out the Fish Spa at Metro Pt.  The way the fishes 'attacked' me, scared me at first before we succumbed into fits of giggles.. geliiii... Tapi berbaloi lah, and the ikan must be kenyang after that.  My kaki feels licin and lembut after the half hour treatment.  Tunggu gaji lagi sekali, nak pergi lagi.
Did a full blood test and alhamdulillah, my cholestrol is still low, my blood sugar has decreased too.  So much so that Dr.B tak percaya and had to check the name again and again.  Alhamdulillah.. life in BBB*angi must be good for me.  (Dah lama tak makan durian.. tokay durian kat HLangat dah meninggal pun).
Adieu.. good nite
Test drive..and 1 mark more
Test drive lah PC baru Faiz ni.. and I need to blog about Afnan's latest antics.
His Umie showed me his test papers. Science 100%, BM 63%.. but what caught my eye was his favorite subject.. English. He scored 90++% but he was not satisfied because of one question that his teacher marked him wrong. It showed a picture of a lady seated at a table, facing a PC. She has a headear phone attachment on her head. Afnan was supposed to choose either [library] or [office]. Smart boy answered [OFFICE] and teacher marked it wrong, saying answer should be [library]. He went up to the teacher and said "no shelves of books" or "she is a customer service officer or telemarketer or telephonist" or something to that effect and got his extra mark.
A typical child would have just left it alone. What the heck, he already got 90++%, what would 1 more % matter. Silap hari bulan kena marah dengan cikgu!! And the teacher must have got a shock to have a 7 year old come up and argue and fight for one more %, bagi aje lah. Hahaha..
I would have been too chicken to claim that extra mark. <cluck, cluck>
Surat Layang Melayang..
Dear Sir,
I was at your restaurant in Alamanda yesterday (31 November 2008) with my family.  I noticed that the tables and chairs in the restaurant has been rearranged.  The pathway to the counter was blocked by a row of tables and chairs.  It makes getting to the counter a big problem for oversized people (like me) with family in tow.
Anyway we approached the counter and we were asked by the staff if we were dining in or taking out.  To which I answered "Dining In".  We were told to take a seat and someone will come take our order.  Hmm..That is a (good) change.  I assume we will be charged 'service tax' accordingly.
I always make it a point to place my orders clearly as I want to get my food quickly.  So I specified that I wanted Set A, with roaster 'emas'.  I was informed that they dont have roaster 'emas' anymore, but it was in the menu and in all the advertisements pasted all over the walls in the restaurant!  Feeling a bit disappointed we changed it to Ayam Percik.  Next we ordered 3 Set B, one with Ayam Lada Hitam and 2 with Ayam Percik.  We saw on the menu that Set B comes with 'Mushroom gravy'.  We informed the crew taking the order that we did not want the 'mushroom gravy' on our Ayam Percik.  After going to the Counter Staff to confirm, Crew said, "Set B, Percik does not come with Mushroom gravy".  I suggest you amend your menu to -- Mushroom gravy (not with Ayam Percik) as it was very confusing for both customer and inexperienced Crew.
At this point, I was getting exasperated because we had to repeat the order so many times.  I almost thought the Crew left school at Year 6.  He was so slow in writing out the orders.  I remembered giving the order over and over again.
We said we wanted 3 Coke*s and 1 Grape for our drinks.  We also added on Japanese Tofu and Drummets to our order.
Pheww... at last he got our order (or so I thought!).
He came back with our drinks.  We almost spat the drinks out.  ALL the drinks was FLAT!  Not carbonated or in simple words 'NO GAS'.  It was like having over sweetened drinks.  Son had experience working at another fast food restaurant and informed me that Under NO circumstances are they allowed to serve carbonated drinks IF they run out of gas!  They are supposed to inform the customer and suggest other drinks.  I think your restaurant should also practise the same.
We complained and the 'slow' crew retorted "saya cuma kuli (I am just a coolie), complain lah pada Counter Staff".  I asked if we can change our drinks AT NO COST, but the crew said that I will be charged an additional RM1/drink, if I wanted to change it.
I finally decided to walk up to the Manager (I assume she was a Manager since she was not in a crew uniform) to get clarifications.  Her name tag states "ZURIATI".  Yes, she confirmed the extra charges for a change of drinks EVEN THOUGH they are at fault.  OK, I settled for mineral water (which cost less than carbonated drinks) with ice but I was not reimbursed the difference because I ordered Sets.  Crew sent the water without the ice and then went back to the counter to get the cups of ice.
Finally the food came to out table all at once, minus one Set B.  I checked the receipt again.  Then I noticed that I was billed for only 1 Set A and 2 Set B.  Arghhh..after all my effort of stating our orders slowly and clearly, the Crew still did not manage to get it right.
Food came to the table cold.  Even the metal tray was merely warm.  Unlike at Warta where we were warned of the hot trays, at Alamanda we were not.  And the coleslaw looks funny, more like cabbage milkshake with speckles of carrot.  Kitchen crew must have over blended the coleslaw.  I thought they have a picture chart on how a 'correct' coleslaw should look like before it can be served.  That must be a standard decades ago!
We promised to ourselves that that will be the last time we set foot in the restaurant.
By the way, I noticed at both outlets (Alamanda and Warta), the Managers are over made up (colour full makeup).  Pretty but if only their attitude and manners were as pretty!!  Our Manager at Alamanda did not offer apologies over their oversight.
So that is why, I am writing in to you.  I hope you will take note and instill some manners in the job training of crew and staff at the restaurants and also take up my suggestions (in this mail).
Pasar I*kan Man*Hattan
My first born made a date with me to celebrate my birthday.  Dah half century dah.. He said he will come over with Rina and Fatin and lepak awhile at home.  Okay.. got Fatin's things out.
After maghrib, we went out in separate cars towards Alamanda.  As the northern parking area was already full, we were directed to the Southern parking area.  Tonite, I decided to throw caution to the wind and parked at the garden (aka taxi stand), illegally of course.
We were the first to arrive at the restaurant and so we ordered our drinks while waiting for the other party.  I am proud to say that fatherhood made Azhar a very repsonsible person.  Fatin had to be strapped in her own baby seat.  Rina seats beside Fatin.  Fatin has her own baby fan with strob lights. hahaha..  Bagus lah tu..  Jangan jadi macam mama dia dulu.. insist on seating in front with baby in lap.
After dinner, we headed off home.  Stopped at the night market because Faizal wanted to get something.  Just as I turned into my "section", we received a call from Azhar, asking where we were.  O o.. my antenna stood up and I sensed something is wrong.  Oh dear, the old kancil refused to start and they were stranded in the parking lot in Alamanda.
So.. To' Ma to the rescue (I am still undecided what to call myself!!).  Kesian cucu aku.  Arrived there and between Faizal and Azhar, they eliminated battery problem.  So I called AAM and they promised to come in 45 minutes time.  My grand doter dah besar biji mata.. huhu dia ni orang malam rupa2nya.  We took turns to carry Fatin around.  Drove her around the parking lots.  Dari shopping mall terang sampai lah gelap.. orang2 AAM tak kunjung tiba.  Called AAM again just to make sure they are not lost.  Finally they arrived and after 5 minutes of probing inside the engine area, diagnosed starter relay problem.  Temporarily repaired the car and I told Rina to call home and said they are sleepng in Ban*gi tonite.  No way I was letting Fatin be stranded again..
Luckily Faiz was out camping, so Faizal moved up to his room.  Cleaned out faizal's room and handed Rina a change of clothes.  Azhar still have his tees here.  Luckily Fatin is on breast milk.  So we only had to stop over at 7-11 to get her a pack of 'pampers'.
So THAT was Fatin's first night at To' Ma's house.
Hari Ray*a Part 2
I dont know how to handle Dad dah ni.. He made my daughter "talk" to his invisible friends.  He told Aiyin, "mintak lah apa aje, nanti dimakbulkan".  I asked Aiyin if she asked those invisible people for straight As in her coming PMR.  Aiyin gave me a disgusted look.  Hahaha..serves me right.  Dad also told me not to worry, all his bills will be settled by his invisble friends.  Ya.. right!!
He forgets to eat.  He forgets to bathe.  He forgets his grandchildren.  He forgets that it was Ramadhan and wonders why all the gerai nasi lemak and roti canai tutup.  But I am thankful that Allah swt looks after him.  Dad is sihat except for some skin infections.  He said he prays (cara dia) even if he gets gangguan dari entah-apa.  He is banned from riding his motorbike after getting lost several times.  My cousin keeps his motorbike keys.  He even managed to ride up to other side of the causeway once!!
Somehow I couldnt stay in dad's company for long this time.  My temper keeps on boiling over.  I kept myself away from him as much as I could.  I didnt want to be anak derhaka.  Cleaned out his room, nasib baik anak2 and anak2 sedara besar2 and kuat.  With Anne's supervison, the kids took out 10 huge plastic bags of what was deemed as rubbish.  Maybe to Dad, it is worth something.  First to go was the sheep skin carpet, that looked like the wool of 5 sheep after being sheared or rather a sheep died there! Then we changed his bedsheet although he hardly sleeps in his bed. The old bedsheet wasnt worth rescuing. We also found some sweet coloured (pink roses!) curtains and put them up. I walked around with Febr*eeze in hand and sprayed the curtains and cushions.  Older sister mopped the house for the thousandth time and was still not satisfied after checking her feet.
We (anne and I) were not fasting, so we sneaked and ate in the kitchen.  Had to make sure Afnan doesnt see us eating.  Afnan saw Dad eating and in a loud whisper told his Umie, "you know Atok is not fasting.  I saw him eat just now!!".  Helped Anne cook kurma.  She's a better cook than I.
By 10pm, I was mentally exhausted and told Faizal to drive us back to the Hotel.  No, I have no desire to sleep in a hot stuffy and smelly room.  I dont care what older sister had to say.  She can sindir all she want.  Well, if it so ok.. why aren't her kids sleeping in the room designated for me!  Anyway, a sympathiser offered to pay my hotel bills.. Yabedabedoo!!  After a refreshing bath, I slept.  Aiyin offered to iron my baju raya but I made sure brothers are around to escort her.  Alaaa Hotel bintang sikit.. seterika kat corridor je.  Kena share dengan orang lain.
Esok hari, selepas subuh, checked out and headed off to JB house.  Dropped off the boys at the junction nearest the surau so that they can attend the Raya prayers.  Checked with older sister, if they need anything before I head off to the house.  Hmm.. just some medication for nephew with a cold head.
Arrived home and helped Anne with the last minute cooking.  Anne was telling me that Dad could not find his room after the cleanup.  Hahaha.. Dad is also pissed off because we cleaned out his room without getting permission from his invisble friends.  He said those people are angry and he is getting the repercussion.  He could not sleep and they even disturb his prayers.  I almost lost my temper.  Actually mood raya tak ada dah.  Just going through the usual rituals.  Went to my cousins houses and then to my mom's grave.
All of us slept in the afternoon.  I had nightmares and could not breathe.  I thought "padan muka. kan dah dapat gangguan".  Got up and packed up and headed off for BBBang*i.  No way I was sleeping in the house.  Kot-kot aku di usung keluar pulak..  Tau pulak takut.  Huhuhu..  So, although I hated driving in the evening as I tire easily, cekal kan hati and told Faizal to stand by to take over the driving if Mama letih.
Selamat sampai rumah kesayangan ku.. Alhamdulillah..
Started the marathon cleaning up and changing bedsheets and washing.  I just cant help it.  I need clean bedsheets when I come back from a holiday.  So therapeutic to change bedsheets.. like a new beginning.  hahaha.. aku dah psycho..
Anne on the other hand came home to disaster.  Power failure killed her pond full of koi fish.  Even the 'bandaraya' wasnt spared.  Now she is left with 3 blind koi.. and the whole family is off fish for the time being.
~~~~~~~

Last weekend I was invited to my cucu's kenduri aqiqah.  Tak kan tak pergi, dah kenduri cucu sendiri and besan yang buat pulak tu.  It was also a birthday party of sorts, being Azhar's belated birthday (23/9), Rina's (11/10) and Fatin's one month old birthday (10/10)... oh ya, also my ex's birthday.  My besan is also famous for their Raya "party".

The kids forgot to bring the bagful of goodies for Fatin, that I left by the staircase.  We had to turn back because Anne forgot the cheese cake I bought for the birthday people. hahaha... bad start.  Journey was uneventful until we got off the main road.  From then on it was 'fear factor' cum 'amazing race'.... jalan nya sempit dan berlubang and banyak nya turns.

Arrived midway through the berzanji by the Ladies group.  Fatin was peacefully asleep in the decorated buaian.  Waa.. she was so pretty in her satin dress (that besan bought), siap dengan matching hairband lagi.  After the berzanji, the group requested for Fatin to be put back in the buaian as they started bernazam (nyanyi syair nasihat).  Doa panjang lebar and finally it was over.  Then it was time for the men to take over and start the doa selamat.  Azhar's turn to jaga Fatin while the ladies partake the food.  Nasi briyani and lauk pauk plus lots of dessert.  I love the lamb curry and also the kari kolestrol (so called because the fat was floating innocently in the curry!). Makan jugak, malam nanti makan ubat.. Hahaha..

Besan siap bekal kan briyani and lauk2 untuk kami bawak balik.  After a few wrong turns, managed to get back to the main road.  Tak pasti second time, boleh sampai rumah besan tak.  hahaha...  sampai rumah terus pengsan kepenatan.  That same evening, Anne called and asked if I wanted her share of bekal.  Dz is not home and there was only 2 person at home.  They (Anne and Afnan) had bbq lamb at two other houses after the kenduri.  Anne had up to her nose with lamb although Afnan couldnt have enough of it.  Anyway I said ok, I will come over after maghrib.  Then just after my prayers, Anne called again and asked if she can be a 'rotten elbow' (buruk siku).  Afnan asked why she had the food out.  So she said that she was giving it to Mak Anjang.  To which Afnan told her, "but I want to eat it tomorrow".  Afnan.. Afnan..

Fatin dah berisi sket.  Comel as any baby.  Rina dah start pump out milk. Tak tahan nak tadah telinga, asyik kena tegur bila nak start bottle feed baby.. takut Fatin cause problem bila Rina start kerja.  Tapi Alhamdulillah Fatin budak baik.. botol pun ok, breast lagi lah ok..

Selamat Hari Raya - belated

My kids had other plans and didnt want to go back to JB for Hari Raya. One had big exams just a few weeks away. Another planned to work part time.. duit raya dah tak dapat, baik buat duit.. Hehehe..

Tapi dek kerana malas nak 'tadah' telinga, mendengar family patriarch membebel, last minute kami balik lah juga. Sempat jugak masak sambal goreng kegemaran Dad. Seharian duduk menghiris dan mengoreng tahu, tempe dan kacang buncis. Pijar jugak tangan menghiris se besen cili dan bahan2 lain. Dan siap oda rendang daging dan rendang dendeng (whose tagline is Ring-A-Dendeng. Cute!!)

Cleaned the house and packed for journey and I ended up sleeping at 2.30am. Woke up 2 hours later for sahur. Made sure I drank my nes*cafe. The kids went back to sleep after sahur while mama took out the sampah and brought down all the bags. Woke up the kids and 5zal packed the bags in the car. Took the advice and left home just as the sun was rising. Traffic was beautiful. Lengang and I guess polis traffic belum lagi keluar balai to take up their post along the highway.

Our 1st stop is as usual at the Jejantas R&R. Tak banyak kereta so we were there just after one hour from BBB*angi. Membuang bahan2 toxic and we continued our journey.

Called Anne when I reached Jus*co Permas. Must stock up on drinking water and food stuff. She dropped the bombshell that air takde kat rumah JB. Dah kena potong sebab tak bayar bil. Aduh..habis lah program mengemas dan membasuh rumah. Quickly rushed home and we were quite happy on the first sight of the house.. no tall weeds. But I almost had a heart attack when I saw Dad. He looked like Robinson Crusoe.. long hair and facial hair. He scolded me for not coming home for so long.

What happened after hugging him will remain in my mind forever. He is totally lost.. Between us (Anne and DZ arrived soon after and Kak Ngah and family much later), we settled his water bills (dah 2 minggu air di potong), electricity bills (akan di potong seminggu lepas raya) and telephone bills (was supposed to potong two days ago). We got running water by late evening but my boys managed to 'steal' water from the main pipe. Jenuh juga kena angkat air to clean the house.

I managed to pujuk Dad to follow DZ for a hair cut. He looked much much better after that. And while he was out, we cleaned the house as best as we could without water..

Late that nite, I went to Seri Malaysia to sleep. Nasib baik Grand Prix dah over, banyak lah bilik yang kosong. Bersahur nasi (dah lama tak makan nasi for sahur.. hehe!) But KA still had cornflakes and I had my toast. Boys had nasi and lauk2 yang manis2 belaka.

Anne came over to the room to discuss what to buy. She had orders to cook Ayam Korma. At 10am, we went back to JB house. DZ was stil at the hotel as he was still working. Aska*ree had assignments to complete.

Today Dad was in a happier mood.. but he is in a different time zone. He keeps on confusing us and keeps on asking who the kids were. I think he is about 20 years behind. Meaning 1988.. so 5zal is just 4 years old and those younger than him does not exist yet.

Oh well.. to be continued..

My granddaughter Fatin came over to visit me when she was 23 days old. Actually that was her due date, but she decided she wanted to celebrate Raya this year. Alahai.. belum berisi lagi walaupun muka dah bulat sikit. Berkerumun uncles and aunty dia walaupun dia tidur saja. Bagi kat Mama nya untuk menyusu dan tukar lampin saja.

Dead Bored and Afna*n

I have finished cleaning up the house. Now that I am totally maid-less, semua kena buat sendiri dah. But I have everything down to a pat. Wake up for sahur and I continue with housework until 10am. Then I get to lie down for a while before I go open the shop. Business hours have been shortened to 6 hours a day beginning 12.30.  Itu pun we get "curses" from customers who expects us to remain open 24x7. Please lah.. we also have a life to live.

My granddaughter Fatin is with her other grandparents so segan lah nak pergi tengok. Nanti lah, I go visit again next week, before Raya. Rina "berpantang" at her mom's house (as the norm). Fatin's presence put me in contact with people who wants me to teach english again. I really, really have to think about that. Although the pay is good, I still dont feel too comfortable standing in front of a class. Speaking pun tak sempurna lagi.. must stay with Afnan more.

Talking about Afnan. When told by the Umie that he has to fast again!!, his answer was "But I have already fasted last year". Duhh.. like fast once a lifetime saja ke? So, as usual the Umie negotiated the payment scheme if he fasted and they settled for a deal of RM1.50 per day. Little did the Umie know that Afnan was going to negotiate a separate deal with the Ayah. Hahaha.. great business mind. He got another RM2 from the Ayah for everyday that he fasted. He happily told me that he was going to fast for 100 days!!!

The day before we began fasting, my big nephews (kak ngah's children) came over. One was on holiday from work in Sabah and the other was on a weekend break from U. I decided to take them to Kenny R for lunch and informed Anne about it, just in case she wants to order take aways for Afnan. But half an hour later, she came over with Afnan in tow. Told me that Afnan wants to come along. Huhuhu.. took Ngah's van to go to Metro Poin*t cos' the boys also wanted to go bowling after lunch. Afnan had his two bowls of Macs and cheese. He also wanted to join the boys in their game of bowling. Left the boys to babysit Afnan while KA and I went window shopping. Afnan enjoyed himself immensely, even managed to get some pins down.

A few days after that he begged and the Ayah to take him bowling. Ayah took him to Alamanda and he bowled. Afnan came home exhausted and nagged the Ayah, "I am soooo tired. Next time DONT take me bowling in the fasting month. OK."  Like.. hello.. you wanted to bowl and begged me to take you there and now you are blaming me for being tired...  Afnan.. Afnan..

Upgraded

I have, as of yesterday evening been upgraded to a new status of Grandmother.

My 1st born presented me with my first grandchild, a GIRL.  Rina gave birth 4 weeks early to a baby girl, on 10/09/08 at 5.23pm.  Please welcome my granddaughter FATIN BT AZHAR.

I will carry the title Tok Mama.. hehe.. saja pilih nama lain dari norm.

~~~~~~~
Today, I went to see her.  She is the sweetest, cutest, prettiest girl ever.  And she doesnt look premie at all.  Takde lah kedut2 or dry kulit.
Syukur Alhamdulillah.. semua dah selamat.  Nah ko Azhar.. thus begins your sleepless nites... hahahahah
Afnan was nonchalent when told he is an uncle.  Tak register apa2 until we told him that Fatin will stick to him cos he is nearest his age.  Panic dia kejap.. Hahaha
Am up..
Ahhh.. azan subuh dah. Baru sudah sahur and I know I cant go back to sleep selepas makan makroni. Wasted a day (not fasting) yesterday since I thought I was going to Nil*ai3. My sister decided to postpone trip to tuesday since she is still on leave.
Azhar and Rina came over to spend the weekend at home. They just came back from Jak*arta. I got a beautiful embroidered telekong. I was actually eyeing it at Mak Lang's website. And now it is Mine!! Free!! More inspiration for the forthcoming solat tarawikh. But Azhar was commenting, "kang orang belakang mama tak kusyuk, dok hitung bunga sulaman, hehehe". Makin bulat perut Rina. Hai, tak sabar rasanya nak jumpa orang baru.
Saw the clip about Boer goats on tv. Was doing some project paper for a friend on that and it somehow got me interested in those cute animals. (Hmm.. I wonder if it is true that I have a share in that project.) After that, watched "House". Lately, with the changing hot and humid weather, there seemed to be so banyak mozzies. Had to resort to burning the mosquito coil. Pencemaran pun pencemaran lah.. tak larat kena gigit. Dah lah Ban*gi ni deng*gi zone. Must be careful!
The campers will be back later this morning. Berlambak lah washing. Then Son#3 pulak balik dari utara for a short holiday. I am blessed.. and happy.
